Jason West has been involved in owning and running English language schools in London, UK, for over sixteen years. Languages Out There, has been operating for over seven years. Since July 2001 it has developed a way of teaching and learning English that is very natural, brain-friendly,challenging and fun. LOT has taught our lessons to thousands of paying students from all over the world and every single one has completed a leaving questionnaire.

Bernhard Niesner (29), born in Vienna, Austria, is responsible for Marketing & Sales at busuu.com.
Before founding the company he worked for the international strategy consulting firm Roland Berger
Strategy Consultants. During his international MBA at the prestigious ‘Instituto de Empresa’ in
Madrid, he met his current business partner Adrian Hilti. Bernhard speaks his mother tongue
German, fluent English and Spanish and is currently improving his Brazilian Portuguese.

Kevin Chen is Co-Founder of italki, a language learning social network and marketplace, with operations in Shanghai, China. He became interested in ideas of how the internet could change language learning after his experience studying Chinese at Jiaotong University. Before living in Shanghai, Kevin had the opportunity to live and work in Tokyo, New York, and London.

Harman Singh is the Founder and CEO of authorGEN and WiZiQ. He studied computer science in India and the US where he founded his first company during his studies in 2002.

I just wanted to share some information about the second E-Teachers Conference. There will be more to come in the next days including the date and time of the ETCon 02 and the final list of panel members.

The panel will talk about: “Communities and the Power of Crowdsourcing”. We will compare the advantages and disadvantages of community based learning and community developed content.

The ETCon 02 will be hosted by WiZiQ as one of our goals at the E-Teachers Academy is to present as many different virtual classrooms as possible to our members. We are very happy that WiZiQ will not only prepare the platform for this event but also take care of the recording and moderation. As you know from the first ETCon, my internet connection is not that stable here in France so we can avoid a bunch of difficulties with the generous help of the WiZiQ team this time.

Looking forward seeing you all on the next ETCon and stay tuned for more updates about the date, time and panelists.
